Card Creating Tuesday at My Cricut Craftroom

Welcome to card creating Tuesday at My Cricut Craftroom.  Today the design team was to use the March challenge card sketch or heat embossing.  I did both.  For my first project I made a 4 x 4 square card and heat embossed a key on it.

Very simple. First I stamped the key image onto black and yellow squares cut @ 2" from George and basic Shapes, using watermark ink (versamark).  I then used two different colors of zing! embossing powder and heated it.  I finished it off with a brad from My Minds Eye.  Done.  It came out pretty cute and could be used for a masculine birthday.

I hope you liked my project today.  Make sure you visit My Cricut Craftroom for more projects like mine!

thanks for stopping by and happy scrappin!

Amy Jo's Birthday Bash

Welcome to Amy Jo's Birthday Bash Blog hop. Today we celebrate the birthday of one of our wonderful crafty friends Amy Jo of http://lv2scrapandfibrofacts.blogspot.com. This is where you should have started the hop. This line up is full of love, fun and fantastic projects! Make sure you visit each one so you don't miss a thing and get ready with your Pin It because I'm sure you'll be using it alot!
If you are coming for the lovableAshley's blog then you are heading in the right direction
AmyJo has alot of loves in her life, so you will be seeing some very different projects.

For my project I made a birthday card. One of the things Amy Jo loves is moose, (is that plural or singular? he-he) that's right! So I found this adorable moose cut on the Campin' Critters Cricut cartridge.

The card base is premade, something I picked up in a pack probably from Michael's. The background paper is from a monthly kit I got from Above Rubies Studio. I embossed Kraft cardstock with the dots folder and lightly inked it with Versa magic red brick ink. I then used bakers twine around the center and pop dotted the little moose!. The happy birthday sentiment is heat embossed, also with brick.

Here is the inside of the card

As a thank you for visiting I am offering up some blog candy................

Would love for you to be a follower so I can break the 300 mark, but if not, please still leave contact information in case you win!

    Love to Create Challenge

well I am entering my first challenge at Love To Create Challenge Blog.  The challenge this week is stitching.  well I was happy to find out it could be faux stitching because I don't think I could manage real stitches!

    Here is my card:

Base is Kraft card stock cut at 6 x 12 folded and edges rounded.  Paper is from My Mind's eye and the heart is cut from the Best of Images 2008 Cricut cartridge.  Like my faux stitching?  LOL  I love that little detail.

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrappin'!

Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Posting

Hi everyone, today I am showing you a card I made with two different PPBN sets.  The Cuddly Cupids pattern set and the Cute as a Bug Girl set.  You can get both of these sets here.  Now I have to say that this card didn't start out like this.  I had other plans and well, you know how that goes.  I used Celebration Tracker Kraft stack from My Minds Eye and made an envelope.  Well the envelope was a little to large for my original idea so I didn't tape the sides down, instead I made it into a folding card.

This bear is from the Cuddly Cupids set. I embossed Happy Birthday and sanded it a little

Inside the card are bug images from the Cute as a bug set

This card base started out an an envelope
All in all it still turned out pretty cute, I think that's mostly because of the great images from Nikki!  Don't forget to stop by the PPBN store to see all the great images there!

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrappin'

My Cricut Craft Room Design Team Imagination Monday

That's right it's "My Imagine ation Monday" over at My Cricut Craftroom.  For my design team offering I used my Imagine (okay so it's my daughter's Imagine but it's in MY craftroom lol) and my new Best Friends cartridge - it's my cartridge - I bought it LOL.

If you've been following me you probably know that my daughter recently got married, and I got a granddaughter!! (finally after 4 grandsons).  So, I decided to make her a set of matching purses, one for her and one for her best friend.  These little purses were so easy to cut and I had fun decorating them up.

The purses were cut at 'fit to page' because I wanted them big enough for some little trinkets. The paper was printed from the Best Friends cartridge also, it is one of the patterns available.  The "Best Friends" label was cut at 3" and I used the layers feature.  I pop dotted it for added dimension and used liquid glass on the "friends" and the tulips for a little shine.  Then  all I needed to do was add some gems and stick feathers behind the label and these are good for sharing!

    Crafty Friends Give

Welcome to the Crafty Friends Who Care blog hop. We are so glad you could join us for Day 1 of this very special hop. The mission of this blog hop is to raise awareness about bone marrow donations to help Leukemia patients.

Bone marrow donation technology has come a long way, and is now as simple as giving blood. So we are trying to raise awareness and get people to register at http://marrow.org to be a bone marrow donor. And why are we doing this you might ask? To help a friend and fellow crafter, Liz Decade. Liz is battling 2 different forms of acute Leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. We are hoping that this hop will help her to find a match. You can see her story at My Story.

Even if you are not a match for Liz, you can still help her. You see bone marrow registrations drives are expensive, you have to pay for each person who is registered, and Liz is trying to raise money for bone marrow drives and medical expenses (it costs a lot of money to get a transplant). You can donate to Liz at DONATIONS. All of the money donated will go to bone marrow drives or medical expenses.

And we have some wonderful sponsors who have donated prizes for our hop.
Sweet Stamping Treats Digital Stamps, Trendy Twine, MB Treasurista, Paper Piecings by Nikki, Inspired Stamps and My Pink Stamper have all donated prizes to this hop. In order to be eligible for one of  these prizes you must comment on every blog in this hop!

If you are coming from Leslie's blog, you are right on track. If you just came across my blog and would like to hop along, please start over with Liz (http://decadeofscrap.blogspot.com)

As my project for this hop I have created my first explosion box. I have always loved these and wanted to try one so badly. I have inserted pictures of my family and will be sending this little box to my sister-in-law who lives out of state and we never get to see each other. All contact is either by phone or email. I know she will love this little gift and it is so much more entertaining to get photos displayed in interesting ways.

All papers used in this project are from the Above Rubies Studio Club Ruby monthly kit. The tags were cut from TBBM and sentiments stamped with stamps I picked up at last year's Scrapbook Expo very cheap LOL. The LOVE and FAMILY stamps were heat embossed.

I found this tutorial here: scor-pal  Now I didn't use the scor-pal I used the Martha Stewart score board, but the tutorial will work the same. There are tons of variations on the explosion box but this was the easiest one and because it was my first box I didn't want anything too complicated.

Now, for MY blog candy what I am offering up is a $1 donation for every new follower I receive from this hop, up to 100 new followers. Currently I have 274 followers. That's right, you can play your part in this cause by just following me. So for only following my blog you too can help Liz D. spread awareness for this worthy cause! Make sure you send invites to all your bloggy friends and have them follow me too! Come back on Sunday Feb 19th to see how much was pledged!

Thank you for stopping by and don’t forget to go to marrow.org and find out how to become a marrow donor

My Cricut Craft Room Design Team posting

Well today's theme at My Cricut Craft Room is to use the letter G.  This means either your cartridge, your feature or your image needs to start with "G".  I used Graphically Speaking for my project today and made, yet another, pink scrapbook page.  I know, I am tired of pink too.  Can't help it, it's for my only daughter and I can never say no.  LOL.

I used the Graphically Speaking cartridge to cut the image at 3 1/2 inches and then I matted it on silver metallic paper to stand out more.  The paper is from the Once Upon a Time stack.  After I photographed this I decided it was too plain so I blinged it up some more with some swirling rhinestones, so it is actually a lot more sparkly now LOL  The ribbon tied at the bottom border is from the same roll we used on alot of her wedding decorations.

Make sure you stop back at My Cricut Craft Room to see more projects like this today!

Thanks for visiting and happy scrappin!

Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Posting

Hi all!  I just wanted to quickly share two projects I made with designs from Paper Piecing by Nikki.

I opened the jpeg images that are included in your order when you purchase a file from PPbN in Word, yep that's all I used, basic Word.  Printed them out on t-shirt transfer paper and voila  I have some really cute and quick t-shirts.  The little cupid bear will be my valentine t-shirt this year and the 3 little monkeys is for my youngest grandson just because they are soo adorable and so is he!

thanks for stopping by and happy scrappin!

Birthday Scrapbook Day at My Cricut Craftroom

If you are here for the Paper Piecings by Nikki blog hop click here

Hi!  Thanks for stopping by today for scrapbook Friday at My Cricut Craft Room!  Today's theme is Birthday.

I made a scrapbook layout for my daughter's 30th birthday, believe me, after a year of wedding crafting in nothing but pink and silver, I am soo ready for some other colors in my life, but I figured I may as well do one more non-wedding thing of my daughter, so pink it is!  But I didn't have much pink paper left. I was lucky to find enough left overs to mat these four small photos and I am determined not to buy any more pink paper for at least 6 months.

All images were cut from the Celebrations cartridge.  "Happy Birthday" was cut in all three layers at 3".  The balloons were cut on shadow at 2 1/2".  I used the Party Time paper stack from My Minds Eye and the 3&0 are stickers from Thickers. I used coordinating paper to mat the photos twice and border the bottom of the page.  I used the same paper and cut out the party hats that are pop dotted on the photos. I added some Stickles in cotton candy to the letters for just a little shine and black licorice to the balloon strings.  The green glitter strip over the bottom border is actually tape from Recollections I found in a $1 bin at Michael's.

I hope you enjoyed my layout and here's hoping the pink is out of my life, at least for a little awhile!

Make sure you check out all the other projects like mine at My Cricut Craft Room today!

Thanks for looking and happy scrappin!
