Aug 19th Scraps to Treasures Team Blog Hop

Welcome to the Scraps To Treasures August hop day 2. This weekend we have several amazing crafters lined up to show you their interpretation of this sketch.

If you have arrived here from Lucy
you are where you should be. If you found your way here on your own, you may want to start at Robin's blog - http:// scrapandchat.blogspot.com/ to make sure you do not miss a thing.

Now before we get to our fabulous projects Robin is giving away some Blog Candy so be sure to check out her blog for directions on how to enter to win.

Now on to my project!

I didn't start out intending to follow the sketch to the "T" but as soon as I grabbed this photo of my son and grandson the stars pattern just seemed to fit and of course the polka paper was in the same bin and it matched too LOL so I guess I just had to keep following the sketch. I haven't made too many projects following sketches but I really liked it, it keeps especially my layouts from always being the same.

I can't list the products I used here because they are all just left overs from other projects but then again that is the purpose of this group isn't it
Thank you so much for hopping along with us .Now you will be moving on to Tahi in today's hop but just in case you need it, here is the full line up. If you missed yesterday's line up it's also below.

Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Posting

Hello followers today I have some Saturday inspiration for you courtesy of Paper Piecings by Nikki.  Today  I want to show you the versatility of one of Nikki's patterns called Baby Bear card, box and tag set.

There's three patterns to this collection, but you don't have to use them all together if you don't want to.  I've made all three, using different papers I can now use them for three different gifts or purposes.

This is the box, but I chose to use it as a  flower pot

Here's the tag. I substituted the cut flowers for some
Primas glitzed with Tattered Angels

Using both blue & pink and a piece of ribbon instead of the
"baby girl" cut this card is perfect for a baby shower

Here are all three elements together, you can see how using the same print paper
and shades it would be an adorable collection for your gift, or using different papers
you now have three distinct projects!

Well that's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by and make sure you visit Paper Piecings by Nikki:

August Krazy Crafting Crew Blog Hop Day #2!

Welcome back to day two of the School is cool blog hop brought to you by the Krazy Crafting Crew!!  This month's hostess is the wonderful Jearise and this is where you should start if you just stumbled upon my blog.  If you have gotten out of study hall by way of the CardMonkey you are headed in the right direction!!

For my project today I have made a welcome back to school pencil holder, made from pencils!

Just add a little gift tag and it's perfect for that 1st day of school present!

This was super simple to make.  I just took a vegetable can, painted the outside red and the inside blue.  Added a piece of foam inside, measured the pencils, cut off the bottoms (well actually my hubby cut the bottoms off) and hot glued them all around the can.  Add a pretty bow and it's done!

Hope you enjoyed my quick and simply project for today.  Class is back in session at Lisa's blog so don't be late!

Paper Craft Island Reward Challenge

Click here for School is Cool Blog hop

Hey everyone I have found the most entertaining blog, it's called Paper Craft Island.  It is a challenge blog with a B I G twist.  You have to be picked to get onto the island and then by participating in challenges you get voted off the island or win immunity from "tribal council" if you participate in immunity challenges and everyone out in bloggyland is on the tribal council!  Everything is completely anonymous so no hurt feelings!  There are also "reward" challenges for those of us who aren't "stranded" on the island and today I am playing along with that reward challenge.

The reward challenge this week is to make a birthday card for a little girl who is stranded on the island.  Here is my card that I am entering....

Paper is just from my scraps stash, ribbon is from 3 Girl Jam, Tinkerbell is from EK Success colored up with CTMH markers.  The sentiment is also from CTMH from the June stamp of the month set Life is tweet!  I used Stardust stickles on Tink's wings and embossed the green mat with the birds & swirls folder.

I hope you enjoyed my entry.  Thanks for stopping by and happy scrappin!

At the Movies Blog Hop

Welcome to the At the Movies blog hop  hosted by Gill McCall .  If you have come from Bee you are going in the right direction, otherwise get your ticket at  http://creationsbygillm.blogspot.com so you don't miss any of these wonderful projects!

Now who doesn't love the excitement of going to the movies, whether it's going to the drive -in, the movie theater or setting up a movie in your own backyard!?!   One of my favorite times during the summer is our homemade movie theater.  We do this when camping and even at home.  My layout today is of the family out camping watching Gnomeo and Juliet.  I know it looks too bright to be watching a movie, but I actually lightened the photos in order to get good prints of the grandkids. This is how we get them to wind down after a long day swimming, hiking and just plan having fun, as the youngest ones usually fall asleep LOL.
The trees are the negative image left over when I cut trees
for a different layout, great way to recycle those scraps!

Everything I used is really just left over scraps and pieces so I don't know the brands of anything.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure you continue on by visiting Dena next.  But before you go if you become a follower and leave a comment with a way to contact you, you'll be entered in to win this wonderful blog candy:

Stickers with matching chipboard embellishments and a roll of ribbon!  Sorry - only open to US residents because of shopping costs.

thanks for stopping by and happy scrappin!

Here's the full line up in case you go out for popcorn!

August Krazy Crafting Crew Blog Hop

Welcome to the Krazy Crafting Crew's August blog hop "School is Cool".  The wonderful Jearise from lorbysworld is our gracious hostess this month.  If you did not arrive here from "the card monkey" you should go to Jearise's blog to start from the beginning.

For my project today I have done a two page scrapbook layout of the first day of kindergarten for one of my grandsons.  This is a really cute scrapbook kit that I purchased at least a year or two ago from Out on a limb and I never put it together.  This hop gave me the push I needed to get it finished!

If you need scrapbook layouts in a pinch I would suggest picking up these pre-cut elements.  It makes this go really quick and the pages turn out adorable!

Thanks for stopping by today, make sure you join us again tomorrow where we will be showing new projects promoting school!!!  Make sure you check in with your next class at: Lisa's blog

Here is the entire line up if you need it:
