My Cricut Craftroom Design team post

Welcome to my edition of WYGEW with My Cricut Craft Room.  Today we are using the tag feature of any cartridge.  Well I came across Stand and Salute in my Scrap-n-Tote and realized I've never used it.  Now my grandson has LOL, yes he used my Cricut and only two cartridges, ever, Everyday Paper Dolls and Stand and Salute.  Why only these two?  Because he only makes military stuff of course.  Because of that he inspired me to make him some dog tags:

I cut the Eagle from pg 29; the star from pg 32
and the rifle from pg 49 using metallic paper from Colorbok

Even the little extras are kinda cute, the eagles, rifles and stars
were saved for something I'm sure he'll make later. Can you see
just how shiny this paper is?  It's pretty thick too, so these will definitely
withstand play.

I used my Gypsy and cut each tag twice, flipping one so I could
glue them back to back for a more finished look.  I then strung them
on a chain, like real dog tags!

Well that is a very simple project anyone could accomplish to make just about any little boy's day!  To see more projects using the tag feature today be sure to visit My Cricut Craft Room.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Scrappin!

Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Posting

Good morning friends.  Today I'm off to a birthday party for my grandson's 7th birthday.  Wow, where does the time go???  I used an exclusive file from Paper Piecings by Nikki to make his card.  I also used her brand new set, Le-Go My Heart to create a layout for pictures today.  Hmm, How did I know he would be getting some Legos???

This is Raj from the PPbN exclusive pattern club set A Whole New World. The sentiment is embossed with 'celebrate' and then lightly inked in orange.  The twine is from the Twinery.

This is the Le-Go my Heart set.  Brand new and so cute!  It isn't quite finished yet .
It  is still just stuck to my Scrap n Easel just in case I want to move something around
and the overalls bear still needs some detail.

You should definitely check out Nikki's store for tons of inspiration she has a special going on right now with the Le-Go set.  If you purchase this set, and it's only $3, you get the Little Monsters set for free!

thanks for stopping by and happy scrappin!!

My Cricut Craftroom Design team post

Welcome to card creating Tuesday with My Cricut Craft Room.  Today's theme is Sunflowers!  Aren't sunflowers just so bright and cheery?  They are really a funny flower.  What child didn't want to plant a sunflower in their yard?  I know I did and my father hated them.  I have no idea why, he let me plant a few one year and that was it. So today I celebrate that childhood treat by making a sunflower card!

The sunflower was cut from Tinker Bell & Friends at 4".  I cut all layers, including the blackout shadow.
All layers were inked with VersaMagic Gingerbread. I matted a premade 5 x 7 card base with paper from MME Quite Contrary stack.

The die, and stamps are all from Creative Time For Me Inspiring Words set

Thanks for visiting today and make sure to visit My Cricut Craft Room to see more sunflower projects!

Happy scrappin!

My Imagine-nation Monday at My Cricut Craftroom

Well this has been a busy weekend huh?  Blog hopping all weekend and now a Monday post!  What was I thinking??  But I did manage to get it all in.  I hope you enjoyed the 100 Cricut Cartridge blog hop and commented on every blog because Erica was giving away some awesome blog candy.  Even if you didn't have a chance to hop with us, you still should take a few minutes during your lunch today and check out the amazing projects all the DT members had going on!

Now for my Imagine-nation post.  This project is something you've probably seen not to long ago.  Here's my story though.  Two weekend's ago I was at a craft show (we were camping and our resort had the beginning of the season festivities.)  As I passed one of the booths something caught my eye.  A gumball machine candy dish.  Oh my it was darling.  As I walked up closer I saw how it was made.  Now, if you are like me, when you go to craft shows and see something you like you think to yourself, "oh I could do that", well this time I was determined to MAKE my dish and not buy it!  So that week I ran all over town looking for the things I would need, and I found them ALL!!

Can you tell what this is made from?  Simple is not even simple enough to believe!  A flower pot, saucer, clear "fish" bowl and a wooden ball.  That's it!  I then used Lori's Garden Imagine cartridge and cut out the mushroom flower vine image.  I used mod podge to adhere it to the front and there you go!  can you tell by all the !!! in this post that I love, love this project?!?
Here's a close-up of the die cut from the Imagine cartridge.

So, to finish the story, I was so excited I couldn't wait to tell one of my crafty friends who said, "oh yeah I saw that on Pinterest, in fact Heather (my OWN daughter) pinned it to her board"  Well, even though I wasn't quite so excited anymore I am still proud that I actually made a project I saw at a craft show LOL and the best part?  Heather doesn't know I made this because she's been off on her honeymoon ;-)

Well that's enough from me today.  Make sure you visit My Cricut Craft Room to see more projects like mine!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy scrappin!

Flowers, Flowers, Everywhere Flowers blog hop Day #2

  Welcome to Day #2!!

Flowers, flowers, everywhere flowers...Don't you just love flowers? They bring color and beauty along with fragrance to our world and that is why this hop is celebrating them in all their glory. Hop along to see how the crafty people in our line up have used flowers in and on their projects.

Our Hostess for this hop is Lissa Marie and her site is the place to start if you've happened upon this hop by accident and want to see more pretty flowers. Otherwise continue on and enjoy all the color and beauty of flowers everywhere.

For Day 2's project I went with a wreath.  I've wanted to try one of these from the first time I saw one on a blog somewhere.  Now, I'm not ambitious enough to do an entire wreath in flowers, (man it takes 100's of flowers so just sayin') but I did manage to cut quite a few and cover a corner.

All the flowers were cut from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, which is an exclusive to CTMH (..um I'm a consultant in need of sales if you are interested in this cartridge or ANY CTMH products <--hint hint).  There are so many other fantastic cuts on this cartridge that I need to explore, but I've been stuck on these 3D flowers for awhile now.

Thank you for stopping by today. This is a two day hop with two projects to share for each person participating so if you didn't hop with us yesterday, please so back so you can be entered in to win some sweet smelling (well OK it doesn't actually smell) blog candy and to see more flowers projects. Now continue on to Jearise to see what she has waiting for you!

Now if you want a chance at some blog candy, please follow me and leave a comment with a way to contact you.  If you didn't visit yesterday, make sure you do, because I will be combining ALL comments and you can double your luck!

Here is the complete hop line up in case you get lost....

My Cricut Craft Room May 100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to the May addition of the My Cricut Craft room 100 cartridge blog hop.  You should have started at Erica's blog at My Cricut Craft Room.

For my cartridges this month I made projects from:  Doodle Charms, Base Camp and Songbird.  So sit back and find out what you can do with these cartridges!

To start you out we'll go with...Songbird

This is the flower/frame cut from page 62. It was cut at 3.10 in (Gypsy sizing), both the
original and shadow feature.  I stickled the flower. The paper is from MME Quite contrary stack and the
stamped sentiment is from Cloud 9

Next up is.... Base Camp

This is the Happy Birthday cut from page 126, cut at 7 in on Martha Stewart paper.  I also cut the months, January through April.  These were used to decorate our birthday board at work.  We celebrate groups of birthdays at a luncheon several times a year.  This month the celebration fell on National "Bring your child to work day" so we had not only employees, but also their kids there to help us celebrate. Lots of potluck and yummy cupcakes from a specialty bakery, red velvet, rum, caramel delite, super vanilla... but I digress.

Now on to my favorite project, and the reason I saved it for last, because don't you do that?  Leave the lobster until the potatoes are gone, eat your cheesecake at the end so it lasts longer....(Wow am I hungry??)

This project was made with Doodlecharms, yep an oldie but goodie...

Here it is!!!  Okay just kidding, this is just the start of the project.  A Shrinky Dink dragonfly.  I am so attracted to dragonflies, but you couldn't tell from my blog huh?

The patterned image on the right is the size you start out with.  I colored all the images with markers and put them in the oven to shrink.  I cut them using the deep cut blade and still had to cut them twice, and it doesn't seem like the material is really that thick, must just be tough.  Now, what did I do with this darling dragonflies???

I started out by taking the light switch plate off my scraproom wall and covering it with paper, using Mod Podge (see it peeking out back there?)  I also coated the outside of the paper so I would be able to wipe it off later when it gets dirty.  What??  you're switch covers don't get dirty??
I then used Glossy Accents to adhere them to the light switch cover.  Below are two pics of the light switch cover actually on the wall.  Yeah my scrap room's green (NO not pink)  I LOVE green, green, green.

So that's it for my projects this month.  Hope you enjoyed them! And to thank you for sticking through this very, very long post I would like to offer you a chance at some blog candy!!!  Please comment, follow me and leave a way to contact you should you win.

A variety of stickers to please anyone and some sheer red ribbon for your tying needs!

And don't forget My Cricut Craft Room is giving away The Wild Card 2 cartridge.  How do you win?  By commenting on every blog in this hop!!  Good Luck!!!
Thanks for stopping by, your next stop will be DT sister Jenny

Flowers, Flowers, Everywhere Flowers blog hop

Flowers, flowers, everywhere flowers...Don't you just love flowers? They bring color and beauty along with fragrance to our world and that is why this hop is celebrating them in all their glory. Hop along to see how the crafty people in our line up have used flowers in and on their projects.

Our Hostess for this hop is Lissa Marie and her site is the place to start if you've happened upon this hop by accident and want to see more pretty flowers. Otherwise continue on and enjoy all the color and beauty of flowers everywhere.

For my project today I made a birthday card.  Well actually 8 birthday cards, all a little different.  We have a "birthday luncheon" at work and celebrate 4 months of birthdays at one luncheon.  Usually it isn't four months, but we were behind and had to catch up one month.  There were 8 co-workers, one a guy, we had to celebrate.  I made all the birthday cards with flowers, butterflies, etc. like pictured here, except the one for the male co-worker, his was embossed birthday presents across the bottom.

So here it is:

I had picked up these pre-made card bases, probably at Michaels, awhile ago and had no idea how to cover them so they sat.  I pulled them out for this hop thinking I needed to use them with flowers somehow and boing!  the idea hit me to simply stamp them with Versamark and cover them in Perfect Pearls.  Now why didn't that idea come to me months and months ago?  Well I was just recently introduced to Perfect Pearls during a lunch time run to a local stamp store LOL.

Thank you for stopping by today. This is a two day hop with two projects to share for each person participating so please come back tomorrow to see more flowers. Now continue on to Jearise to see what wonderful projects she has come up with!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy scrappin!

My Cricut Craftroom Design team post

Today at My Cricut Craft Room it's Card Day and today's theme is the interactive "slider" card.
I got the template for this card from Interactive cards, edited by Tanya Fox, by Annie's Attic paper crafts. This card was actually designed to be a birthday cake.
But because I didn't want to just scraplift this design I did a twist on mine...

I started with the tree cut from Bloom at 7" and cut the leaves several
times to get different colors.  I then lined the tree up on the already cut
slider card to get all the sections correct.

I specifically cut this section for the top from the DCWV
      All About Me paperstack

I also cut the bottom layer from the same paper
to get the grass. My hole is a little off but
that won't matter in the end

After embossing the tree with the Birds & Swirls folder
I adhered all the sections and closed the edges of the card
(Notice how my daughter got her wedding ring in the picture LOL)

Next is the second section, stamped with sentiments
      (and again that wedding ring!)

For the pull I used a brad through  a paper flower
and tied it off with twine from the twinery and
the ring is poking out again (she is a new bride
      so we will forgive her)

Here is the entire card expanded....yep it's upside down from
the original birthday card concept I showed you in the beginning.  I love the sentiment
"Families grow Together" it fit perfectly with this card.
