Paper Piecings by Nikki Just Married Card

Well I promised you yesterday I would show you what I created with the sweet Just married set from Paper Piecings by Nikki and here it is..............

This is a card I am going to use for my daughter's upcoming wedding at the end of January. Isn't it just sweet?  the card base is 5 x 7, covered in matching paper from a valentine pack (the cover is missing now so i don't know the brand).  "Love" is from the Sweet Hearts Cricut cartridge and then heat embossed.  The darling couple has been pop dotted up.

My cricut craftroom 25 Days of Christmas - snowmen!

Hi and welcome to day #23 of My Cricut craft room's 25 days of Christmas.  Today's theme is snowmen and I chose to make a home decor item using the Potpourri Basket cartridge.  Both the snowman and the trees behind him are available on this cartridge.  The frame is a simple $1 frame from Michael's.  I covered it with paper from the signature Christmas Holiday Glitter Book by My Mind's Eye.

I used my Gypsy to size the snowman and the trees.  I wanted to stretch the trees upward but not wider.  The trees were cut at 3.89 x 5.64 and the snowman was cut at 3.46 x 3.71

I used glitter glue from Studio G (that good ole $1 bin) to add a little snowshine to the tops of the trees.

thanks for stopping by and make sure you visit MYCRICUTCRAFTROOM for the rest of the wonderful projects based on snowmen today!

Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Posting

Hi all, it's been a very hectic December for me.  My mother passed away at the beginning of the month, out of state and I have been waiting for her cremains to arrive back home to me so my sister and I could start planning her memorial. We almost have all the arrangements finalized, Then my husband gets laid off and cramps my crafting time so I haven't been able to lose my thoughts in my craft room like I was hoping to help me through this.  Most of my postings have all been pre-scheduled so it probably looks like I've been busy crafting, but thank goodness for the blogger scheduling option that helps me get ahead of the game for trying times like this.  I promise I will get to reading all the wonderful comments everyone has left here over the last month.

But for today I thought I would do a "live" post and put up some of the projects I have been working on with Paper Piecings by Nikki's Very Beary Christmas collection.  This is a very versatile set, and can also be purchased as digi stamps.  Now I am not a stamper, I have found the "coloring" aspect really cramps my fingers, but they are so adorable I had to make some gift tags out of them.
These were colored with pencil they still are adorable though!
Now I was certain that I had taken pictures of the gifts I used these for, I remember setting the scene, etc.  But I can not find the pics, I must have gotten distracted and never actually took them.  I had made "reindeer beer" bottles, with pipe cleaners for antlers, googly eyes and even a red pompon nose.  I saw them in DIY Christmas ideas.  Adorable and can even be used on wine bottles and six packs of bottle root beer!

This is a very simple and cute card using the same digi stamp set "Very Beary Christmas".  My grandson actually used a couple of these images for a Christmas card for his teacher this year, it is sweet.

Now piecing is more my style, lol.  This adorable bear tangled in her Christmas lights is part of the Very Beary Christmas piecing collection.  Her bow and lights are lightly stickled for extra shine.

And finally I have a two-page 8x8 layout I made for my 5 year old grandson's Christmas program, can't wait to print the photos for it.  He sang "he'll be comin' round the mountain".  So adorable when a bunch of 5 year olds sing!

Thanks for stopping by and remember if you visit Nikki's blog and link up a project made with this adorable set, or her newest Baking Memories Pattern set --adorable gingerbread guys --, you are entered to win a huge crafting prize!  make sure you stop by and check it out, and all the beautiful projects made with her piecings!

Have a safe and blessed Christmas

Santa baby Digital blog hop Day 2 - 12/18/11

Welcome back to Day 2 of the Santa Baby Digital Blog Hop!!
If you came here from:  Nikki you're going in the right direction, if you want to start from the beginning go here:  Becky

Yesterday I posted a layout of my grandson having a blast playing in the snow during our blizzard last year.  So today I thought I would post a layout of the "other" side LOL.  Today's layout is of the work the grown ups have to do when it snows.  Yep the fun job of digging out.  For this one I used a pre-made layout, it is a one page layout that is called a "quick page".  Everything was done for me, all I had to do was insert a photo.  Now this is what I like!  LOL   I think I'm off to buy a 12 x 12 printer (that's my preferred size of scrapbooks) and because I don't want them bound unless they would be for a present, then printing each page myself and putting them in a album, I don't need to send them off to be printed and bound.

I am using software called My Memories studio and you can purchase items, and even tons of stuff for free, on their website.  Now on to my layout.....

I know you have been enjoying yourself on this hop because all the ladies are soo very talented and I am so happy to be in this line-up!  I have made some Christmas cards for your viewing enjoyment made with the Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut cartridge.  The images on this cartridge are so stinking cute I can't stand it.  Of course, like just about everything I do, I needed to really (and I mean r-e-a-l-l-y think about these layers, call my daughter, think about it some more) before they made sense to me, but once they did, oh my they were so easy and adorable I couldn't stop cutting the Christmas related images!

The card bases are from Hobby Lobby (at 50% of course), the paper is from Paper Layerz by Megan Elizabeth (have you seen this awesome paper???) the sentiment shape is from My Creative time, along with the matching stamp and the sentiments are from My Pink Stamper --  boy I am just name dropping all over the place today!  All the Hello Kitty images were cute at 4" - and they still had some pin head size cuts!

Well that's my contribution to Ashley's Christmas Magic hop, thanks for stopping by!  Your last stop is: Kristy

Santa baby Digital blog hop Day 1

Welcome to the Santa Baby blog hop were all things are digital!
If you are getting here by way of Mary's blog you are on the right track, if not and you want to start over with the wonderful hostesses of this hop:
 Becky and Dandy
you should start here:  Beckscricards

I am really new to digital scrapbooking and I have to say, most people find digital scrapbooking to be so easy, but I have a really hard time if I can't see everything right in front of me and I have to go looking for images and embellishments, so this page was very hard for me. I used the My Memories Suite software and their store has tons of pre-made layouts (up my alley). Maybe if I would have just used a pre-made layout it would have been easier, but I wanted so badly to try creating my own, and I don't have a lot of content yet, so this was very hard.  I know that if I wasn't doing a blog hop I would simply use a pre-made layout to get a lot of pages done quickly, so for non-posting purposes  I will be use this software alot for gifts for family who likes to get photos of all of us.   As most of you were probably involved in too, last year we had a blizzard.  The kids loved it, no school, fun outside.  This is a layout of one of my grandchildren having a wonderful time in all the snow!

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrappin'!  Remember to come back tomorrow for Day 2

Now on to the next awesomely digital project by: Anne Marie

Paper Piecings by Nikki Christmas Card week

Hello all my crafty friends!  I have to tell you I am having a blast being in my first design team.

This week's theme at Paper Piecings by Nikki is Christmas cards!  I made a really quick and simple card from this week's freebie being offered on the PPbN site.  I cut this adorable snowman at approx. 4" .  His scarf and background paper is from the Lost & Found  designer paper pad from My Mind's Eye, this pad is just adorable.  It isn't a Christmas pad but I really love the muted colors.  I made a little Stickle holly on his top hat, tied a piece of ribbon around the mat and voila!  a cute and so simple card ready for mailing!

Make sure you stop by Paper Piecings by Nikki's facebook page and say hi!  And then go to the PPbN store to grab this freebie while it's available.

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrappin!
