My Cricut Craftroom Design team post

Hi and welcome back for Scrapbook Friday at My Cricut Craft Room.  Today's theme is colors: Green, Purple & Blue.  I used Fancy Frames  and Art Philosophy to make this scrapbook page dedicated to my mom. My mom passed away last November.  My daughter and mom were very close.  I took this picture when we went to visit her last summer in Arizona (if you visit often you've seen several layouts from our Arizona trip!)

The frame was cut from Fancy Frames at 8 1/2 inches.
I used my Gypsy  and measured the frame against a 4x6 rectangle

I cut two dragonflies, one at 3 and the other 2.5 inches from Art Philosophy. I just love dragonflies, can you tell?
I used some random pattern paper for the main cut and then used Firefly  and Starry Night Stickles on the body.

These are chipboard letters from Thickers

This is flourish bling I picked up for $1 at last years Scrapbook Expo!
All my  cuts were from Paper Co. Seaside set and Paper Studio Sugar & Spice

I so hope you liked my layout today.  I really love it.  Make sure you stop by at the beginning of May for the 100 Cartridge blog hop to see more dragonflies!

Chocolate Covered Strawberry card

Good morning everyone!  Hope your weekend is off to a great start!   the weather is playing tricks on us again, warm yesterday, cold today.  I wish I knew how to dress when I get up LOL.  Seems I put my winter sweaters away a little too early.

Today I have a quick card to share with you made from a freebie from Paper Piecings by Nikki.  That's right, it's a freebie, so if you haven't tried Nikki's files yet, go grab this one and give it a try.  Nikki always has great freebies, all kinds, and if you snoop through the store I'm sure there will be something there you will fall in love with.

Four simple cuts, that's it.  A pink layer, a red strawberry layer, green stem and chocolate covering layer, how simple is that?  I stickled  everything a little just because I love all the sparkle and I'm addicted to stickles.  the base of the 4 x 5.5 card was stamped with Versa mark and the Leaves and Flower Scatter stamp by Hero Arts.  I then used Perfect Pearls in Forever Green and Forever Violet to bring out the stamp design.

If you want this strawberry file grab  it  here.  Also make sure you become a fan of the Paper Piecings by Nikki facebook page to get in on all kinds of contests.

That's it for today, go enjoy your weekend!

thanks for stopping by and happy scrappin!

My Cricut Craftroom Design team post

Hi and welcome to Theme Day at My Cricut Craft Room.  Today the DT members can make whatever they like as long as it falls under today's theme of Vacation!!!  I chose this day because I have tons of vacation photos to scrapbook and need all the incentive I can get to finish them.  So for today I did a one page layout using the Paper Dolls Dress Up cartridge.

I used my Gypsy to make all my  cuts, I usually do. I lay everything out on the mat to check for sizes.  I even do this for 2 page layouts just by selecting the 12 x 24 mat to lay everything out. Did you know you can switch back and forth between mat sizes while you are in your project?  This is also helpful if you've selected alot of images and they aren't on your mat, just switch your mat to 12 x 24 and drag them over, then switch back to the 12 x 12 mat!.

My dinosaur was cut at 3.97 x 3.24 and then I inked him a little for definition because there aren't any layers on this cut.

The palm tree was cut at 5.18 x 3.48.  I cut it twice so I could have a brown trunk.  I then inked the leaves for depth.

The yellow strip down the side was ripped and I placed two smaller photos over it.

This was from our trip out west to Arizona last summer.  We visited the Grand Canyon Caverns and this dinosaur was out front.  We had fun taking turns "running" away from him!  That is my daughter running away and my daughter-in-law slowing Rex down by holding his tail LOL

I hope you liked my quick layout today.  For more projects like mine please visit My Cricut Craft Room.

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrappin!

Something Special card

HI everyone!!  Today I made a cute little card, based on a sketch I found on the challenge blog at My Cricut Craft room.  I don't do challenges very often but this one was pretty quick and I had some extra time, I can't believe that, usually I don't have "extra" crafting time. But some how I found an extra hour this week.

So here's the sketch.....

...and here's my take on the sketch...

The card is 4 x 4 Kraft card stock
The cloud was hand cut from the DCWV All about me paper stack
Other paper is just from my HUGE scrap pile
The sun was cut from the Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut Cartridge at 3 "
The Flower is the tulip cut from the Garden Soup Cricut Cartridge at 2 3/4"
Sentiment:  My Pink Stamper Family & Friends set
Everything was inked with Versa Magic in the following colors:
Turquoise Gem
Persimmon
Night Sky

I might hunt around to see if there are any other challenges I can enter this card in

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrappin!

My Cricut Craftroom Design team post

Hi and welcome to another Card Creating Tuesday with My Cricut Craft Room!  Hope you all have recovered from your sugar comas!

One theme today was Get Well cards.  I remembered I had seen an adorable card, perfect for any occasion, at CardzTV and tried my hand at it.

This is a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch card.  The different paper layers were cut at 4 x 5 1/4, 2 x 3 3/4 & 3 x 3 3/4.  The frame was cut at 3 inches from page 61 of the Song Bird cartridge.  The bird/fence was cut at 2 inches from page 71.  Again the paper is all from my scrap pile, I am slowly using it all up to a manageable stack LOL.

The Get Well sentiment is from Pink by Design Scripted Year set.  Yep, it's a simple card and could be used for just about any occasion with a switch of the sentiment!

I hope you enjoyed my "lifted" card today and to see more projects like this please visit My Cricut Craft Room.

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrappin!

April Showers bring May Flowers Blog Hop Day #2

Welcome to day #2 of the "April Showers Brings May Flowers" Blog Hop! This hop will showcase things that are all about spring so please sit back and relax and let this hop put you in a springtime mood where the sweet smelling cool rain gently wets the ground so the seeds poke their heads out and become beautiful flowers.

If you happened to stumble upon the hop here by chance, and want to start from the beginning, it all starts with Lissa at www.somanycrafts.com , this will take you through the entire hop of inspiration.

Be sure to give some love throughout, as each one has worked hard on their projects for you today..   Other hosts may be giving out blog candy so keep an eye open since they may have different rules on how to win.

For my project this month (you didn't know this was a monthly blog? It is!! with a different theme each month) I made a two page layout dealing with April and rain LOL, Today I'm showing you the second page, I hope you visited yesterday to see page one.

Paper is from the From the Heart by My Mind's Eye paper pack, letters were cut from the Cricut cartridge Mickey Font, clouds were also cut from a Cricut cartridge, but because I used my Gypsy, I can't say which one.

Now that I see Pg2 up it's a little plain for me, so I will be adding more, probably rain drops and a border on the bottom.

So to finish off my story, the "kids" were so excited to work on the new fire pit, they designed it, pulled all the stone out and were set to building the new pit.  My husband of course was totally satisfied with the old pit and kept telling the kids they better know what they were doing because he wasn't doing any of it lol!  He wanted a pre-made one with a metal ring.  So all the stones are pulled and it starts to pour.  All the kids run for cover and my husband and at the time soon-to-be son in-law stay out in the rain and now mud and finish up the fire pit.  So, there is my husband and oldest grandson sitting in front of the not so roaring fire, under an umbrella because after all the hard work my husband was determined to have a campfire!  It was a fun afternoon even with the rain and mud!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you made it both days, and if you did make sure you comment and leave a way for me to contact you in case you are the winner of my blog candy:

For this month's hop I used Word Collage and Campin' Critters to create two separate projects.

I have wanted to try a canvas project for a long time now, so I decided to try one using Word Collage.  I started with an 8x8 canvas from Michael's.  I then painted it with all my fav colors (well except the yellow, that was added for a pop of bright color).

Then using my Gypsy I used the collage for crafting.  I sized it slightly smaller then my canvas at 7.25 x 7.25.  I cut this out on contact paper..this is cheaper the vinyl and because I was just going to throw it all away it made sense to use the cheapest medium.

After "picking" out the pieces I wouldn't need I covered it with backing tape and laid it on the painted canvas.  I then painted the entire canvas again, covering all the letters, in black.

Once I peeled off the plastic letters my canvas was complete!  Super easy actually.

For my second project I used Campin' Critters to make a one page layout.  I can't get enough of this adorable cartridge.  We do alot of camping in the summer so it will get tons of use!

I based my layout on the "project" in the booklet. I love to do to the projects in the booklets because it helps me understand the different cuts, features and sizes.  I'm not going to make you read all the sizes of the cuts because they can be found in the booklet.  I used mostly scrap paper.  I've been forcing myself to do this because I have two huge, unorganized piles and I want to use alot of it up before I try to organize it some how LOL.  This is a picture of my husband hanging our new post sign on the edge of our camping property.

I hope you are enjoying our hop and your Easter weekend.  I am actually camping right now, coming home late tonight to make it to Easter dinner with the family!  (oh it's soo nice to have grown children to take care of these things now!!)  Now please so visit Tracy to see what fab project she has made!
