My Cricut Craftroom Design team post

Hi all, today is Card Creating Tuesday at My Cricut Craft Room.  Today we were challenged with a sketch and color restrictions.

Here is the sketch and we had to use the pastel colors of green & yellow and then add in one more color...I chose blue.

Here is what I came up with!  How do you like it?  I used the Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the background lace image.  I can be found on page 66 and using my Gyspy I sized it to 4.25 x 5.5.  The flowers are embellishments from K &  Co.  The sentiment is from  Hero Arts and it was stamped in blue from a EZ Success punch.  I will be using this card for my granddaughter's birthday.

My Cricut Craftroom Design team post

Welcome to Scrapbook Friday with My Cricut Craft Room.  Today's theme is "kids".

This past summer I took a trip with my kids and grandkids to visit my mom, sister, brother-in-law and niece's family in the "it's not that hot in the shade" Arizona.  I laugh at that statement because there isn't any shade in Arizona, at least not in Golden Valley, which by the way is golden BROWN!  LOL.  We did have lots of fun though, early in the morning and in the evening.  On one of the days we took a day trip to Las Vegas NV.  We were only an hour away and my 11 year old grandson just had to go --  so he could brag to his friends no doubt :-)  Well we braved the heat and sun and went.

One of the stops we made was at the M&M factory.  The grandkids had a ball, I was actually glad we braved the heat and took them.  So today I want to show you the fun they had.

Pretty simple layout for me but that's because I really wanted to use all these photos on only one page.  I simply cut 1 1/2" strips of paper and then cut mats on opposite colors - all M&M colors of course!.  I cut my letters from the Plantin School book cartridge because they were closest to the actual lettering.  I cut them twice, one in white and one in brown (yummy center) at 3.15" using my Gypsy. I used punches from Creative Memories in 1", 1 1/4" & 1 1/2" to sorta look like M&Ms and journal on them.

I used the Sew Stamper and burst pad, that I purchased from Erica's store, to trim the paper layers.  A quick and easy layout to remember one day of our trip!.

Spring has Sprung blog hop March 20th

Welcome to the Spring Has Sprung Blog hop! Happy first day of Spring! Today many fabulous crafters will be showing you inspirational Spring projects!

This hop is sponsored by Ginger Snap Scraps, an online store run by Cori Wagner

The store will be opening in April
Cori is giving away a $10 gift card to the store to one lucky winner.
You must be a follower of Ginger Snap Scraps, the blog in order to win the $10 gift card.
Ginger Snap Scraps will carry Cricut products, Echo Park, Lawn Fawn, Bazzil Cardstock, The Twinery, Copics, My Mind Eye, La La Land and many more popular brands that you love!

The hop begins at Created By Cori. If you came from Ava then you are in the right place!

To celebrate Spring, and boy did it come early this year, I've made some flower pots.  These pots are for sharing later in the month with some crafty friends.

Using my new Art Philosophy cartridge I cut all the different flowers options at either 4", 4 1/2" or 5 1/2".  I inked all the edges.
I then rolled them all using the end of a paint brush to start.  You don't need to keep them on the "roller" but it was easier to start this way and then half way through I pulled the paint brush out and finished rolling them.  I then just let them drop onto my work surface so they would open up a little bit.  Using a hot glue gun (only way for me to do them because it was easiest), I gently closed them up until they fit on the base again and stuck them into the glue.

I placed a bunch in a box and sprayed them with clear bronze Glimmer  Mist for just a little extra shimmer. In some of the centers I put either a gem, Crystal Stickles or white opal Liquid Pearls.
I took shisk- ke-bob sticks, cut them in half, wrapped them in ribbon and glued the flowers on.  I simply tied green "making memories" ribbon around the "stems" to act as leaves.
I then stuck them all into little flower pots I picked up at the $1 store.  I put a section of floral foam in the bottom, layered it with glue and stuck Easter basket stuffing on top.
Inside each flower is either Crystal stickles, Liquid Pearls or a gem, just depended on the flower and it's size.

This is the first time I've made flowers and I really like them.  I was addicted and spent an entire Sunday afternoon going through my scraps and making flowers!

Thanks for stopping by, but before you leave how about some spring time blog candy? I am offering up an assortment of bling, some twine, ribbon and Spring inspired stickers (sorry couldn't get the picture to upload). All you need to do is be a follower (shameless plug for acceptance I know) and leave me a way to contact you should you win!  It's that easy. I can only offer this to U.S. residents unfortunately due to postage.

Now take yourself over to see the fabulous project made by the totally awesome Ashley!

Disney Gives Back Blog Hop

For my DT post for My Cricut Craftroom please click here

Welcome to the Disney Gives Back Blog Hop. This wonderful blog hop was created out of a desire to give back to a wonderful organization called Crops of Luv. Throughout the hop, you will see layouts from talented crafters who have chosen to give back and help make these children's days brighter.
Crops of Luv makes albums for Make A Wish Albums for families who go to Disneyland or World. Please visit and support each crafter and also if you would like to make layouts for Crops of Luv you can do so by contacting.... Crops of Luv at http://www.cropsofluv.com.

If you came here from Paul's blog then you are in the right place. If you just happened upon this blog by email or web surfing, please go back to the beginning at http://www.blessedonthebrightside.com and visit the hop from the beginning. You don't want to miss out on any of these amazing layouts.

Our grand prize blog candy is a set of Stamps from CardzTV Stamps set Encouraging Thoughts. This is one of my favorite stamp sets that Mary has made this far. You get one entry for hopping with us and a 2nd entry if you make a 2 page layout for Crops of Luv and mail it. Post your layout to the Mr. Linky at
http://www.blessedonthebrightside.com and then mail it to:
Crops of Luv
11424 S. Pawnee Circle
Phoenix AZ 85044

So here is my project:  I made a two page Goofy and Mickey Mouse.  All the paper and stickers are from a Disney collection, honestly it was all in my daughter's stash, so I don't know what brands they are.  But they sure are cute!  I do so much Cricut stuff  that it was fun to get back to basics and just cut mats and use stickers and boy did it come together fast!

I loved making this layout, hope you enjoyed it.  Not only is there a grand prize for hopping but I have some blog candy up for grabs for one lucky follower too!  Make sure you're a follower, leave a  comment and also a way for me to contact you!  And in true Disney style, my blog candy is two sets of Disney stamps!!

K

Today we proudly bring you the Letter K! K K K what starts with K?

"K" is for Kangaroo!!

So here she is!  After I cut her I really didn't know what I was going to do and I just kept thinking "K is for Kangaroo"..probably because I have a grandson in kindergarten and we do his letters over and over LOL.

I pop dotted all the layers and thought she turned out so cute

and that little school ditty kept running through my head so I cut the "K".  I was thinking flash cards, but she was a little too big for that so I thought I would go through the alphabet and make one of these for each letter, I do have a younger grandson too, so the entire alphabet can be hung on the wall.  It will be so darling.  I'll make sure to post each letter as I get them done, I am actually looking forward to this!

I used a really cute paper stack for the background paper and little "my pet" frame.....

And everything was inked in...

Thanks for stopping by and make sure you visit My Cricut Craft Room to see more Letter K projects or projects made with our other theme today...the Imagine!

Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Posting

Paper Piecings by Nikki has some adorable files available when you get in on her pattern club.  One of those exclusives is the Love Me Tender bear.  Now I love everything "Elvis Like" and fortunately passed that hip wiggling love gene onto my grandson. (Along with a love for the Beatles yay!)  So when I saw this Love Me Tender bear I knew just who to make it for.  I wanted him to be able to see it everyday, not just put it in a scrapbook for me to enjoy so I decided to make him a night lite.

I started out with a mayonnaise jar and added some stars using red and blue stickles and wrapped some ribbon around the lid

I used red and blue stickles to line the neckline of his jumpsuit
and a gold viva decor pen to add brads down his flared pants
Put in a battery operated tea light...

And a night lite is born
I hope you enjoyed my little night light as much as my grandson.  Thanks for stopping by and happy scrappin!

My Cricut Craftroom Design team post

Today's letter of the day is "J".  This means we need to use either a Cricut Cartridge, feature key or image that begins with "J".  I took some creative license with this :-)

A few months ago my new granddaughter had a chance to go to the circus for Girl scouts and actually be down on the floor and meet the performers and dress up and all sorts of other fun things.  We then stayed for the show.  It has been soo long since I've been to the circus, so much has changed.

To capture some of the memories I scrapped a page with the Juggling acts  "-)

Recipe: Bella! Boy paperz - Spot

            Stickles - Christmas Red

It's all about the Green Blog hop Day 2

Welcome back to day 2 of the It's all about green blog hop.  You should have come from Lisa's blog.  If you are just visiting me, you really want to start at the beginning with Zenita!

For my project today I am just revisiting a project I made last St. Patrick's Day, a super sweet and quick banner.  This banner was made with pre-made shamrocks that were already glittered.  I added a little hanging leprechaun that was cut from the Paper Doll up Cricut cartridge - an oldie but goody!  I will have this little lucky banner hanging in my office on Monday!  That's the great thing about banners, you only have to hang one decoration and you can celebrate every holiday!!  This is great when you don't have alot of time or room to put stuff up.

Those are little pots of gold in between each shamrock

The letters were cut from the Storybook cartridge

Here's our little lucky leprechaun!

Started out with pre-made Styrofoam shamrocks

I hand made the paper for the rosettes by stamping ivy in green randomly on white paper

I also have blog candy up for grabs, make sure you have commented on both days of the hop....here is my Day 1 project and also a pic of the blog candy I have up for grabs --  would love for you to be a follower, so excited I've made it to 300!

Your next stop is: Robin

Now on to my project .......

I chose to use the following cartridges this month:  Don Juan, Luau and Life is a Beach.

This card was made using the window card feature on Don Juan, it was cut at 5 1/2".  "Aloha" was  cut at 1 1/2" and the flowers at 1" using  real dial size, both cuts are from the Luau cartridge.  "Aloha" is heat embossed with clear embossing powder for shine and the flowers were highlighted with purple glitter.  The three purple embellishments in the left corner are actually glitter too, I used dimensional glue and sprinkled glitter on them.

The base paper is from We R Memory Keepers, "Willie".  All the extra cuts is this card, and the card below, were cut from Paperlayerz by Megan Elizabeth "Waiting in line"collection.

This card was cut from Life is a Beach.  It is the project card in the handbook.  I like to revisit the tutuorials every so often to get reminders on how to do things. For instance in this tutorial the card base cuts out with the coconut drink attached to the card front and you need to cut the coconut again to get all the layer colors.   The "Luau" on this card is actually being held by a crab in the original cut that I trimmed off. If I hadn't done the tutorial I may have not realized for similar cards that I could cut sections off to layer because the Luau w/crab was cut at 5" , usually a size too large for that cut to be used as is.  The card was cut at 5 1/2" and I also used Paperlayerz by MeganElizabeth for the drink cuts.  The card base paper is from the Animal Crackers paper mat stack.  The cherry and orange slice were Stickled for a little extra shine and to avoid needing to cut yet another color.
Make sure you visit My Cricut Craftroom tomorrow for a whole new line up and different projects to finish out the 100 cartridges and I know Erica will have wonderful blog candy up for grabs for those who comment along the way!

Thanks for stopping by and your next stop on this wonderful hop is Jenny R. http://myimagitivity.blogspot.com

Here is the entire line up for today in case you get lost:
