Paper Piecings by Nikki Christmas blog hop Day 2 - 12/3/11

Welcome back to Day 2 of the Christmas paper piecing blog hop hosted by the ever creative Nikki of Paper Piecings by Nikki.  I am stop #2 on this hop, so hopefully you've gotten to me by way of Nikki's blog, if not you will want to start from the front of the line!

Well I have to say I was intrigued by paper piecings, that is after I found out what they were.  I was seeing the term thrown around on facebook in the various crafter groups and had no idea what they meant.  Basically it is just the art of cutting out an image with various parts and putting them together, layering, to form your image.  If you use a Cricut, you are doing paper piecings.  The piecings in my project today were designed by Nikki.  They are so adorable.  I hope you agree.  So now on to my layout for today...yes I'm on a layout binge right now, I tend to go in streaks, all cards, all home decor, etc.  Right now it's all about the layouts!

Here's the full layout, the paper is from the signature Christmas Holiday Glitter Book by My Minds eye

The mailbox and little girl are part of Nikki's Letters to Santa collection

1st page of the layout where I will scan a letter to Santa from one of my grandsons

2nd page of the layout where I will put the letter that Santa sent to one of the grandsons

Rudolph is from the Just Believe set and he is surrounded by letters cut from the Doodle bug cartridge
Thanks for visiting and if you visited and commented yesterday, make sure you do the same today for a chance at some blog candy..................

And I love how you mixed the sets and combined other piecings to complete this adorable scene :) What a great way to show many ways to use paper piecings together to create the perfect layout :) Thanks again for participating and be sure to visit my Facebook page tomorrow to see the new DT announced ;)
