Hello all! Today I had to make two sympathy cards for co-workers who lost family members. I used the same colors and cuts, but made them a little different. The butterfly was cut at 2" from the Ashlynn's Alphabet cart, which was the first cartridge I bought at a Black Friday Wal-Mart sale years ago and don't really use very often.
I used basic A2 card bases and re-folded one into a gate fold. I covered the inside entirely so you can't tell from the inside. I embossed both butterflies. The second butterfly I really like how it turned out, it is much prettier in person. I cut the second butterfly from the same pattern paper I used for the base. I then used the "stencil" part of the cut so I would know where the image would cut on the paper and inked over the pattern paper and also added accents in yet a second shade of ink. I then embossed both butterflies with clear embossing powder three times to add some weight to them. I don't have the extra thick embossing powder (yet) so I used extra layers and it works similarly. Everything was inked in a dark purple for some highlights.
thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping!!
