School's out for the Summer blog hop

Welcome to the Monthly Bloggin' Gals June blog hop. This month we are celebrating "School's out for the Summer". Our hostess with the most-ess this month is Katina Martinez!

If you didn't come from Jaime's blog, then you should go back to Katina's blog and start from the beginning so you don't miss a thing!!

With school ending for the 2012 year that means tons of graduations; pre-school, kindergarten, 8th grade, High School....I'm sure most of us have at least one of these this year. For my project today I made a really quick graduation card. This is a card from one of the popular card-making magazines I had and a friend turned into an SVG file so I wouldn't have to measure or hand cut any of the images. Isn't she a blessing?!? She is also a crafter but really likes to design more then craft so when we were looking through the magazine/book she wanted to try her hand at drawing the images and saving them in SCAL. It worked like a charm (that's because she's so smart LOL) and now I have the file to use quickly!

The tassel is made from purple and white twine from The Twinery

This is a tri-fold card, this is the first layer

This is the very center of the card

I'm so glad you decided to hop with us today and really hope you'll stop back to visit tomorrow when we will show you all new projects based on what we think "School's Out" means to us!  I'll even have some blog candy up for grabs for those who comment on both days!

Your next stop is:  Robin

Hi Liz! That is a very sweet card. You're right, all that measuring, cutting, etc. would drive me crazy. I love the SVG cuts! I especially like how the tassel comes off the top button -- clever!

Amazingly, I think (HOPE!) this is one of the off years when none of my nieces or nephews is graduating ... that's a first in a long, long time. But I'll save this idea for the future. LOVE IT! Thanks for hopping with us. As I know I've said to you before, your blog always makes me smile when I visit!

Fondly,
