My Heart Belongs to Daddy Blog hop 4/9

This hop is in honor of Jennifer Anderson's father .If you came here from Karel's blog you're headed in the right direction. If you happened upon this hop and want to view all the beautiful projects start here: Scrappin Lil Turtle The theme for this hop was to make any masculine project.  I decided to make something for my husband.  He is an avid Chicago Bears football fan and I wanted to try a "shadowbox" or similiar project.  I decided on a Printer Tray project. I had seen one on the Archivers site and fell in love with it.  I chose a Printer tray from 7gypsies, this is what one looks like before you decorate it. This isn't the exact design I chose, but is very similar.

Because this was going to be for my husband I  knew it had to be decorated to highlight the Chicago Bears. I am a football widow LOL.  It's okay though because that means I always have my Sundays to craft!!  This is the finished project

This is a close up of the tiny banner. I can't remember which cartridge had a banner on it, lots do though. I simply hid the letters that were supposed to cut from the center using my Gypsy. I hand cut the orange and white strips.  The tiny bear head and the Chicago logo were made tiny in paint and then I hand cut them.  They are very small. I used glue dots to adhere them to a piece of twine and attach them to the frame. I had a hard time trying to figure out something for the long narrow vertical space, so I bought some beads in blue and orange and glued them in stripes.

Each little box was measured and I cut paper at the various sizes to fill them in. I cut the word "BEARS" out twice with my Cricut and layered it to look like a shadow in blue & orange, the football pennant and star are actually buttons, they came in a football theme pack, you will see the set all over my project:
The beer mug was $1 at Party City, it was cut in half to fit the depth of the tray. The mug cost .99, the tools to cut it:  about $300!   LOL  they were all my husbands of course.  I used a cotton ball for the foam 'head'
the game ticket came from a football sticker pack
The Bears football is actually an eraser that comes apart. I only used one side of it, and again some of the buttons from the same football theme pack.
in the upper right hand corner is beautiful Soldier Field in Chicago! The football uniform was cut from paper doll dress up - the best 'go to' cartridge there is.
I hope you like my project, I know my husband did!  Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping!!
