Mother's Day Blog hop 4/30

Welcome to Nicolette's Mother's Day Blog Hop!  If you came here by way of Jessica's blog you are headed in the right direction. If you just happened upon my blog and want to see all the fantastic projects by these very creative ladies then start here:  Nicolette

My project is for, of course, my wonderful mother. She lives in Arizona now so I only get to see her once a year for the summer. I wanted to make her something to remember all of us kids by!  I made a word book of MOTHER.  I dug through an old trunk I've been storing for her and couldn't believe the memorabilia I found. Old pictures of my sisters and brother, old report cards and school papers.  I scanned everything and put it in the book for her!

Everything is cut from the Storybook cartridge.

I think this is the first time I've coordinated all my paper LOL.

I found these mother related poems online and printed them out

Thank you for stopping by.  Hope you enojyed my Mother's Day  Wordbook!  Now on to the rest of this beautiful hop next stop -->  Jalisa

Easter Scrapbook Layout

Inspired by a 3 Birds presentation I saw on HSN during the Premiere of the E2, the Die-Cut mats, I decided to try this myself.  Using my Gypsy and the Easter 2010 cartridge I did a quick one page layout for our Easter egg hunt.

The "Happy Easter" didn't come out how I imagined, so I had to ink it up a little and then stick it back into the mat, trial and error.

The eggs, bunny and grass border were cut, I used just the stencil of them and placed a print easter paper underneath.  This doesn't have the usual bling that I like to have but now that I have a better understanding of how this turns out I'll be able to plan better!!

Thanks for looking and happy scrapping!!

CardzTV challenge

Mary at Cardztv has a Mother's Day card challenge going on right now.  The challege is to create a  Mother's day craft, card or layout using only the colors Blue, Green, Purple and White. I started with a 5 x 7 green card base, covered it with a basic white cardstock that I stamped with flowers and butterflies in shades of blue and purple.  These are $1 Michael's bin stamps.  I used Songbird to cut the bird and overlay.  Added a piece of scrap blue ribbon and some feathers for a final touch.

I think I'm going to make a few of these for other special mom's in my life!  Thanks for looking and happy scrapping!

Cricut Cardz Challenge #70

This week over at Cricut Cardz Challenge we had to make a cupcake holder.  I used the cupcake holder from the Easter 2010 cartridge cut at 3".  I then punched out some tiny bunnies, ran them through my Xyron sticker maker and lightly flocked them with some flock I found in the dollar bin at Michaels.  I adhered small crystals to the tops with my Irock from Imaginisce (I don't suggest this for large batches of cupcakes LOL).  The stamp is from Emma's My Creative Time stamp set Color me Happy.   I didn't have any cupcakes laying around so I placed a metallic colored egg in there instead!
thanks for looking and happy scrapping!!

Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #9

For Emma's challenge click here

This week the Challenge at Celebrate the Occasion is...Challenge #9, the theme is "Easter or Spring (must use a punch)".   I made a "Spring" card.  It is a basic A2 card base, covered with a piece of clothe paper that came in a scrap pack from Hobby Lobby.  The flower is cut at 3" from Walk in my Garden.  For my punch requirement I punched the two little tulips and then mounted some striped paper behind them.  The "Spring" stamp is actually from a High school Musical set that I picked up on clearance from Walmart. The stamp reads "Queen of Luau Springs".  I just inked the "Spring" section and used it.

I added the punched out tulips to the envelope.  Thanks for looking and happy scrapping!

My Creative Time Throwback Challenge

My Dog Syd!
Syd is a 3 year old Austalian Cattle Dog and I don't think I am being partial when I say the BEST dog in the world, at least the best I have ever owned. I've had dogs my entire life and I don't know if it's Syd or his breed, but he is the best natured, most well behaved dog I have ever had the priviledge of living with-LOL!  He's spoiled but only shows it at home, is fantastic and patient with all the grandkids, ages 16 months to 10 years and listens better then any of my kids ever did!!!!

Emma's challenge this week was to make a scrapbook layout with any Cricut Lite cartridge.  I had picked up the Four Legged Friends cartridge during the last Black Friday Walmart sale and had never used it.  Well I decided to pick it up and try it out!  The bone and the BoW wow cuts were found on this cart, how cute!
I used my gypsy to cut the rounded square mat, the bone and the bow wow.  The DOG sticker is from a Paper Studio chipboard collection.  Insead of cutting the small heartlike shapes for the bon ends I stickled them in white and paprika. The background paper is from DCWV Pet Stack.

Thanks for looking and Happy Scrapping!!

Basket Case Blog Hop

Welcome to the Basketcase blog hop hosted by the incredibly craftily talented Rhonda of Scrap Happens.  If you haven't visited Rhonda's site before you can not miss spending some time perousing her blog. She has some of the most incredible mini albums and other craft projects to be found.  I strongle suggest you go back and visit her after you finish this hop.

If you didn't start the hop from the beginning do so from here: Scrap happens.

This is my basket:

The fence was cut from Paper Doll Dress Up, I manipulated it some with my Gypsy so it would be taller but not longer. I pop dotted it so the little lamb, which was cut from Easter 2010 and the grass, cut from Pantin Schoolbook, would fit behind it.  All the flowers were cut from Walk in My Garden.  I chalked the edges of the fence and the lambs in a light gray.

Thanks for stopping by, now on to your next fantastic Easter Basket at Mintascreations...oh wait
how about some   BLOG CANDY!!!   Just leave me a comment, follow me if you like what you see, and make sure you leave a way for me to contact you:

Two packs of spring stickers and a set of Making Memories journaling tags!
Good Luck!!

My Heart Belongs to Daddy Blog hop 4/9

This hop is in honor of Jennifer Anderson's father .If you came here from Karel's blog you're headed in the right direction. If you happened upon this hop and want to view all the beautiful projects start here: Scrappin Lil Turtle The theme for this hop was to make any masculine project.  I decided to make something for my husband.  He is an avid Chicago Bears football fan and I wanted to try a "shadowbox" or similiar project.  I decided on a Printer Tray project. I had seen one on the Archivers site and fell in love with it.  I chose a Printer tray from 7gypsies, this is what one looks like before you decorate it. This isn't the exact design I chose, but is very similar.

Because this was going to be for my husband I  knew it had to be decorated to highlight the Chicago Bears. I am a football widow LOL.  It's okay though because that means I always have my Sundays to craft!!  This is the finished project

This is a close up of the tiny banner. I can't remember which cartridge had a banner on it, lots do though. I simply hid the letters that were supposed to cut from the center using my Gypsy. I hand cut the orange and white strips.  The tiny bear head and the Chicago logo were made tiny in paint and then I hand cut them.  They are very small. I used glue dots to adhere them to a piece of twine and attach them to the frame. I had a hard time trying to figure out something for the long narrow vertical space, so I bought some beads in blue and orange and glued them in stripes.

Each little box was measured and I cut paper at the various sizes to fill them in. I cut the word "BEARS" out twice with my Cricut and layered it to look like a shadow in blue & orange, the football pennant and star are actually buttons, they came in a football theme pack, you will see the set all over my project:
The beer mug was $1 at Party City, it was cut in half to fit the depth of the tray. The mug cost .99, the tools to cut it:  about $300!   LOL  they were all my husbands of course.  I used a cotton ball for the foam 'head'
the game ticket came from a football sticker pack
The Bears football is actually an eraser that comes apart. I only used one side of it, and again some of the buttons from the same football theme pack.
in the upper right hand corner is beautiful Soldier Field in Chicago! The football uniform was cut from paper doll dress up - the best 'go to' cartridge there is.
I hope you like my project, I know my husband did!  Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping!!

Martha Stewart Punches!!

Can you guess where the fabulous punches came from?  Yep the HSN special of the day!!  I ordered all of them and can't wait to get them, every 3 months?? isn't that a long time to have to wait.  With the punches came an adorable layout design.  I couldn't wait to try these punches so I gave myself a little tutorial and did Martha's layout.  Need some work on the punch anywhere but it was my first time.  Here it is:

This is two of my adorable grandsons!!  Thanks for looking and happy scrapping.
