Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Posting

Happy Birthday Nikki!!

Thank you for joining us for a very special blog hop today.
Today we celebrate the birthday of our "head nut" Nikki. Nikki is the owner and designer of Paper Piecings by Nikki where you will find wonderful paper piecing patterns.

This hop is dedicated to our fearless leader from her design team

Each of the DT member's has created a special card for Nikki including a special message on the back side of the card. The cards have all been placed in a book and sent to Nikki for a memento of her first Design Team members.

Please take the time to stop in and visit each of
our DT sisters blog and make sure you leave some comments for the DT. We all depend on those comments to help us improve our work.

If you have arrived here from Mandy, you are in the right place, if not you may want to start from the beginning:

And here is my card to Nikki:

Thank you for helping to celebrate the birthday of a wonderful designer,
but more importantly our friend!
Happy Birthday Nikki!

Now hop on over to Kimberly to see their card for Nikki!!

Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Posting

Welcome Crafters how are you enjoying this very warm summer so far?

Today I wanted to share with you a couple cards I made using the Beach Bums Digi Stamps  and the You R My Sunshine Acrylic stamp set from Paper Piecings by Nikki.

Now I am in no way a stamper, I wish I were and keep trying, but I don't have the skill or patience for all that shading and correct lighting etc. so I just color them with pencils add a little Stickles here and there and some Glossy Accents and call it a day LOL.  I did try the water pen and ink method and that didn't work for me either (probably not the right type of ink?) So for now I'm sticking with pencils when I want the entire image colored and fine tip markers when I just want a little bit for highlight.

I'm not much for fussy cutting either (I should just give up on the digi idea LOL) so I used a heart stencil
to cut this little doll out
Now don't let my attempt at digi's discourage you from trying them yourself.  You can pick up this set here:

Also don't forget to stop by Nikki's store and see what other fab files she has, along with her new stamp line and if you're on Facebook make sure you stop by, say hi and join in on the games and challenges we have every week!  Here's the links:  ppbncraftyinspirations and Paper Piecings by Nikki

Under The Sea Blog Hop

Welcome to the Under the sea blog hop hosted by the oh so talented and ever gracious Ashley from  http://theglamoroussideofscrapping.blogspot.com.  That is where the hop starts, so if you stumbled across my blog (thank you so much) you must swim back to Ashley's blog so you don't miss a single ray of sunshine (or bubbles)!!  If you got here by way of Lisa then you are floating in the right direction.

So who's ready?  I know after all the heat we've been having here in the Mid West this past week I know I sure am ready for a little dip in the ocean.

For my project I made a treasure box.  This little gem was only $1 from that fabulous where you can get anything for 4 quarters store!

I then just painted it a pretty sea blue, added some glitter paper for a little sparkle, upcycled a broken shell bracelet I had gotten probably from a Florida trip and voila!

I hope you feel a little cooler after your dip in the ocean!  Make sure you continue on this refreshing journey by visiting Nancie next!

Here's the complete line up in case you find yourself swimming in circles:

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrappin'!!

Second page with bear, pine trees and campfire

Close up of black bear cooking his s'mores and dogs!

Campin' Crazy S'Mores birthday card

Paper Piecings by Nikki design team post!  Today is my grandson Anthony's 6th birthday and I wanted to share the birthday card I made for him using PPbN Campin' Crazy pattern set.  Here is the complete set:

I used the S'mores face to make this birthday card.  I sized the pieces to about 4 1/2" so they would fit perfectly on the front of the card. I also put him on an Action Wobble so he would have a little swing to him, what 6year old wouldn't love a bouncing S'mores???   The sentiment is from My Creative Time "you had me at chocolate"!

Thanks for stopping by and happy Scrappin!

School's out for the Summer blog hop

Welcome to the Monthly Bloggin' Gals June blog hop. This month we are celebrating "School's out for the Summer". Our hostess with the most-ess this month is Katina Martinez!

If you didn't come from Jaime's blog, then you should go back to Katina's blog and start from the beginning so you don't miss a thing!!

With school ending for the 2012 year that means tons of graduations; pre-school, kindergarten, 8th grade, High School....I'm sure most of us have at least one of these this year. For my project today I made a really quick graduation card. This is a card from one of the popular card-making magazines I had and a friend turned into an SVG file so I wouldn't have to measure or hand cut any of the images. Isn't she a blessing?!? She is also a crafter but really likes to design more then craft so when we were looking through the magazine/book she wanted to try her hand at drawing the images and saving them in SCAL. It worked like a charm (that's because she's so smart LOL) and now I have the file to use quickly!

The tassel is made from purple and white twine from The Twinery

This is a tri-fold card, this is the first layer

This is the very center of the card

I'm so glad you decided to hop with us today and really hope you'll stop back to visit tomorrow when we will show you all new projects based on what we think "School's Out" means to us!  I'll even have some blog candy up for grabs for those who comment on both days!

Your next stop is:  Robin
Thanks for stopping by and happy scrappin!
